Hours after being inducted into the Fight Wing of the UFC Hall of Fame, former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones was arrested.
Marc Raimondi at ESPN reported that Jon Jones was arrested at 5:45 a.m. Friday morning in Las Vegas where he was in town for Thursday night’s Hall of Fame ceremony.
Officer Larry Hadfield of the Las Vegas Metro PD tells ESPN that the fighter is being charged with misdemeanor battery domestic violence and injuring or tampering with a vehicle.
Jones was in Clark County Detention Center at the time of the report on Friday afternoon with bail set at $8,000 with Jones on a 12-hour hold.
Last night, Jones was inducted into the Fight Wing of the Hall of Fame alongside Alexander Gustafsson for their UFC 165 fight in September 2013. Jones had spoken to the media at the event stating he was currently around 255 pounds with hopes of fighting in the second quarter of 2022.
Jones has not competed since March 2020 and had several public disputes with UFC management over the past year regarding fighter pay.
