Bobby Fish is looking forward to the future.

This weekend, Bobby Fish will be in Philadelphia for MLW’s Fightland event. He’ll be participating in the Opera Cup tournament and his first match in the tournament is against AEW’s Lee Moriarty. Just several days after Fightland, Fish will be on AEW Dynamite in Philadelphia where he’ll be challenging Sammy Guevara for the TNT Championship.

Fish told Busted Open Radio that he felt like his career was ready for a fresh coat of paint. It was never on his agenda for things turn out this way but he is looking forward to what’s to come and feels he has a new lease on his wrestling life.

I feel like I was ready in my career for a fresh coat of paint so to speak and here we are, you know? And it wasn’t orchestrated and I didn’t seek it out. Something fell into place and it just — it’s happened and I have this kind of new lease on my wrestling life and I can’t wait to go at this thing guns blazing and Saturday will be the start of that. I feel like I’ve kind of already got that ball rolling but we’re ready to keep it rolling and kind of accelerate everything.

Specifically speaking about the Opera Cup, Fish expressed his excitement about being a part of the tournament. He said it is something he wanted to do and it’s going to cater to a style of wrestling that he’s familiar with.

It’s friggin’ awesome. I specifically wanted to do the Opera Cup. The level of talent in it is amazing, and it caters to a style that I’m very familiar with and I’m just looking forward to mixing it up with everybody in MLW and in the Opera Cup. Not looking past anything but Saturday at this point, you know?

Fish’s former Undisputed ERA stable-mate Adam Cole was in action on the 9/29 AEW Dynamite. He defeated Jungle Boy in singles competition and to get a recap of the latest Dynamite, click here.
