WWE SmackDown notes: Brock Lesnar a ‘free agent’, Sasha vs. Bianca, Rollins/Edge

News and notes coming out of the WWE Draft edition of Friday Night SmackDown

The 2021 WWE Draft began on the 10/1 SmackDown. Brock Lesnar appeared during the opening of the program and took out SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) and Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Lesnar later announced that he cannot be drafted to a brand and is a free agent. Lesnar credited Paul Heyman for making that happen.

Following Lesnar’s announcement, Paul Heyman was very apologetic towards Roman Reigns. Reigns instructed Heyman to head over to Monday Night Raw and make sure Jimmy and Jey Uso get drafted to SmackDown. Reigns later told The Usos to accompany Heyman and if he doesn’t make sure they get drafted to SmackDown, then they are to “leave him for dead”.

The rivalry between Seth Rollins and Edge continued. While Edge was present on the show, Rollins was at Edge’s home.

Hit Row (Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott, Top Dolla, B-FAB & Ashante Thee Adonis) were drafted to SmackDown. Top Dolla was in action prior to the show going live and he defeated Cedric Alexander.

The 10/4 episode of Raw in Nashville, Tennessee will feature an appearance from Goldberg. This past Monday, Goldberg sent a message via satellite that he is coming for Bobby Lashley.

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods were drafted to SmackDown. In their first match back on the brand, they teamed with The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) and defeated Chad Gable, Otis, Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler.

Headlining the 10/1 SmackDown was Sasha Banks versus Bianca Belair. The SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch distracted Belair which led to Belair losing the bout. Post-match, Raw Women’s Champion and SmackDown draftee Charlotte Flair took out both Belair and Banks.

Riddick Moss’ new name is ‘Madcap Moss’. He has been paired with Happy Corbin. Corbin scored a win over Kevin Owens on tonight’s show.
