During Saturday’s Knockouts Knockdown pay-per-view, IMPACT Wrestling confirmed that Awesome Kong (Kia Stevens) will be inducted into their Hall of Fame this month.

The announcement of Kong’s induction was introduced by Christy Hemme with a video airing highlighting Kong’s career in TNA/IMPACT Wrestling.

After the video, Kong made an appearance in front of the audience at Skyway Studios in Nashville, Tennessee.

The induction ceremony for Kong will take place on the night of Bound for Glory on Saturday, October 23rd in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Kong’s career in TNA began in 2007 when the promotion was launching the Knockouts division and it was her series of matches with Gail Kim that helped put the division on the map and became a key part of TNA programming.

Kong defeated Kim on January 7, 2008, to become the second Knockouts Champion and won the belt for the second time in October 2008. She also held the Knockouts tag titles with Hamada.

Kong officially announced her retirement in August at the NWA EmPowerrr pay-per-view.
