The former ‘Fandango’ was almost on Dancing With the Stars.
When Dirty Dango f.k.a Fandango arrived on WWE’s main roster, he took on a ballroom dancer character and had several dance partners throughout that period of his career including Layla El and Summer Rae.
Dango wrapped up that character in 2016 but during the run, he was close to appearing on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars. While doing a virtual signing with Highspots Wrestling Network, Dango shared that he met with ABC about appearing on the show in 2014. Dango believes that the spot ended up going to UFC Hall Of Famer Randy Couture because of his name value.
Yeah, I went and met with ABC and I think Randy Couture got it or one of the UFC guys got it [Dancing With the Stars gig]. Was it Randy Couture? One of those guys got it instead of me because they were — I guess more famous than I was.
WWE’s The Miz is currently on Dancing With the Stars. Miz and his partner Witney Carson are currently in sixth place in the standings.
