Katsuhiko Nakajima made the first defense of his GHC Heavyweight Championship on Saturday at ‘Demolition Stage 2021’ in Fukuoka.
The back-to-back N-1 Victory tournament winner, Nakajima, won his second GHC championship earlier this month by defeating Naomichi Marufuji.
On route to winning the N-1, Nakajima did sustain a loss in the round-robin portion to 48-year-old Masato Tanaka, which set the stage for Saturday’s title defense.
Nakajima was victorious in a match that lasted nearly 35 minutes and ended with the champion executing the Vertical Spike for the victory and successful first title defense.
In a six-man tag, the group of Keiji Muto, Naomichi Marufuji & the new GHC National Champion Masaaki Mochizuki defeated Kaito Kiyomiya, Masa Kitamiya & Daiki Inaba after Muto hit the Shining Wizard and pinned Inaba.
HAYATA retained the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Championship against NOSAWA Rongai after hitting the Moonsault Press.
