Starz has announced that the pro wrestling drama ‘Heels’ will be returning for a second season on the network.

The series premiered over the summer starring Stephen Amell as ‘Jack Spade’, who ran the Duffy Wrestling League out of Georgia that also featured Alison Luff, Mary McCormack, Kelli Berglund, as well as Phil ‘CM Punk’ Brooks.

Variety notes that production for the follow-up season is set to begin next year with actors Trey Tucker (‘Bobby Pin’) and Robby Ramos (‘Diego Cottonmouth’) promoted to series regulars in the next season.

Jeffrey Hirsch, president, and CEO of Starz:

It’s clear from the critical and fan acclaim that the stories and characters from the Duffy Wrestling League have made a connection with audiences bringing a community that is not often found to premium TV.

I’m excited for our amazing cast and executive producers to get back into the ring together for a second season.

The first season consisted of eight episodes airing from August until October in a Sunday night slot that averaged 91,000 viewers and 25,000 in 18-49, according to data from Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics.
