AEW profiled ahead of Full Gear.
All Elite Wrestling has three more televised shows to go before their Full Gear pay-per-view on November 13th. At the event, Bryan Danielson will go one-on-one with Miro in the finals of the AEW World Title Eliminator tournament.
The company is presenting a live edition of Rampage on 11/5 from St. Louis, Missouri. Ahead of the show, The Washington Post profiled AEW and spoke to Danielson, company President Tony Khan and Women’s World Champion Britt Baker. Danielson feels that his purpose in AEW is completely different from what it was in WWE and added that he felt like AEW did not need him because they’re product was already awesome.
My purpose in AEW is something completely different than it was in WWE. I really felt like AEW didn’t need me. My purpose is to get more eyeballs on this already awesome product.
Although the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing, arenas are back to being filled up for shows. Tony Khan said the no-fans period of wrestling made it clear who was presenting the better product between AEW and WWE.
The pandemic made it more obvious who was putting more time into the stories, and who was trying to put on more quality national television.
On tonight’s Rampage, the TBS Title tournament is continuing as The Bunny meets Red Velvet in a first round matchup. Also, CM Punk will confront Eddie Kingston in response to their altercation on the 10/29 Rampage.
