Allysin Kay discusses what improvements can be made for women in wrestling.

The NWA World Women’s Tag Team Championships are currently being held by The Hex (Allysin Kay & Marti Belle). The duo won the titles at NWA EmPowerrr and they recently defended the titles on Ring of Honor television.

Along with their team, Kay and Belle have their respective singles careers and they spoke about their single and tag runs during an interview with Bell To Belles. During the discussion, Kay was asked what can improve for women in wrestling and she mentioned that the pay gap between men and women could be evened out more.

Has it gotten better for the women? Yes. Is there still a lot of room to grow? Absolutely. Mostly I would say the one that sticks out to me off the top of my head is the pay gap. That’s really in the world but absolutely in wrestling as well. I remember talking to someone outside of wrestling about this and they were like, ‘Well, that’s just how it is. That’s how it is in the world’ and I’m like, ‘Do you not see the problem with that though? This is a problem, it’s a problem’ so that I would say is the biggest issue on the top of my head right now.

Kay was last in action at SHIMMER’s event on October 31st. She also celebrated a birthday on 11/5.
