** UPDATE **
In the main event of Raw, Big E went one-on-one with Kevin Owens in a non-title match. The stipulation was that if Owens won, he would be added to the WWE Title bout at ‘Day 1’. Rollins was ringside and Owens antagonized him throughout the match which led to Rollins interfering and ambushing Owens. As a result, Owens became the victor and he is now competing for the WWE Title at the pay-per-view.

On the 10/25 Raw, Rollins emerged victorious from a Ladder match involving Finn Balor, Kevin Owens and Rey Mysterio and with that win, Rollins secured himself a shot at the WWE Title. Since that bout, Rollins, Big E and Kevin Owens have been intertwined on-screen.
Big E first captured the WWE Championship in September after cashing in his Money In The Bank contract. Rollins versus Big E is the first match announced for WWE’s first pay-per-view of the new year.
