The IWGP tag champions stand alone on top of the standings of the World Tag League after Thursday’s win.
The Dangerous Tekkers, Zack Sabre Jr. & Taichi, earned their sixth victory of the tournament on Thursday defeating Tetsuya Naito & SANADA in a match that nearly went to the time limit of thirty minutes.
Going into the match, both teams were tied with ten points and concluded with Zack Sabre Jr. hitting the Zack Driver and pinning SANADA in 29 minutes and 49 seconds as the tag champions secured the top of the standings with two weeks remaining in the annual World Tag League.
Naito & SANADA are now tied with Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI, Bad Luck Fale & Chase Owens, and Great O-Khan & Aaron Henare with ten points each. Goto & YOSHI-HASHI and Great O-Khan & Henare each secured victories on Thursday in their respective matches.
Hiroshi Tanahashi & Toru Yano, Guerillas of Destiny, and EVIL & Yujiro all have eight points.
The tour resumes Friday with the Best of the Super Juniors tournament taking place from Saitama while the World Tag League continues Saturday in Yamanashi.
