Tyron Woodley is going to receive his rematch with Jake Paul.

Paul was scheduled to fight Tommy Fury, the brother of heavyweight Tyson Fury, on December 18th but Fury has withdrawn from the contest.

Fury has issued the following statement noting he sustained a broken rib and is dealing with a bacterial chest infection:

I am absolutely heartbroken that I have been forced to withdraw from my fight with Jake Paul due to a bacterial chest infection and broken rib. The beginning of my camp was going so incredibly and I never expected anything to come in my way from a victory on December 18th. I can’t express how disappointed I am and I really do hope we can get this fight rescheduled in the new year, I want this fight to still happen more than anything. I’m now regretfully putting my focus on recovery and a further rescheduled date.

The news of the fight was reported by Keemstar with Paul officially announcing the rematch with Woodley on Monday.

Paul and Woodley fought this past August on Showtime with Paul earning a split decision victory. Woodley immediately campaigned for a rematch and was told if he followed through with a pre-fight bet of receiving a tattoo with Paul’s name, he would get the rematch. Woodley displayed the tattoo on his middle finger of Paul’s name but did not receive the rematch then.

The fight will take place from the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida on Showtime pay-per-view in conjunction with Most Valuable Promotions.
