Charges against Juan Alberto Rodriguez Chucuan a.k.a. ‘Alberto Del Rio’ have been dismissed according to the latest court documents in Bexar County.
PWInsider.com was the first to report the updated status of the case where Chucuan was scheduled to begin his trial next week. Following a hearing on Friday, the court documents state that there was a missing witness and the charges have been dismissed along with Chucuan’s bond being returned.
Chucuan was facing one count of aggravated kidnapping and four counts of sexual assault stemming from an arrest in May of 2020 where a police affidavit stated that the unnamed woman alleged that the pro wrestler sexually assaulted her with photographs of injuries she sustained.
Earlier this year, Chucuan stated that the charges were made up and the woman would be dropping the charges.
Chucuan has posted several statements reacting to the news that the charges have been dismissed.
enamoró por primera vez cuando era sólo un niño. Debido a esto, confirmamos que señor Rodríguez estará reiniciando su carrera en la industria de la lucha libre y deportes de contacto. Gracias a todos por su atención.
