Former WWF talent Michael Penzel a.k.a. Corporal Kirchner passed away at the age of 64

At the age of 64, Michael Penzel a.k.a. Corporal Kirchner has passed away.

On December 22nd, Michael Penzel, known in wrestling as ‘Corporal Kirchner’ and ‘Leatherface’, passed away in his home at age 64.

‘Dignity Memorial’ has an obituary up on their website about Penzel’s passing and below is the write-up:

He was a professional wrestler for over 20 years with World Wrestling Federation (WWF), New Japan (where he was known as Super Leatherface) and Frontier Marshal Arts and Wrestling (FMW).

Michael is survived by his wife of 25 years, Tina Duke Penzel; sons, Haden James Kirchner, Kyle Michael Kirchner (Neterre) and Justin Cruz (Linzi); daughter, Krystal Tuck; parents, Thomas Bain Kirchner and Genevieve O’Callaghan Kirchner; and grandchildren, Korbyn Annette Kirchner, Ryden James Kirchner, Elora Kirchner, Talan Robert Tuck, Dalayna Nicole O’Brien, Wyatt Alexander Tuck, Hunter Bain Tuck, Grayson Cruz; sisters, Susie McFarland and Lynn Walcott; and brother, Curtis Bain Kirchner.

Penzel began working for the WWF in the 80s and he competed at WrestleMania II. Outside of WWF, he went on to have stints with New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Penzel became a constant in FMW under the ‘Super Leatherface’ name. His last documented match was in 2009.
