Lashley versus Lesnar at the Rumble.
The conclusion of the January 3rd episode of Monday Night Raw saw Bobby Lashley best Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins and former WWE Champion Big E in a Fatal 4-Way match. With that win, Lashley secured a shot at the WWE Championship and he’ll be challenging Brock Lesnar for the title at the Royal Rumble.
For years, Lashley has stated in media interviews that he’d like to share the ring with Lesnar. This is the first time the two will go one-on-one in their respective careers.

Lesnar was interviewed following Lashley’s win and he did not react to his new challenger coming forward, but stated that he’ll be seeing Universal Champion Roman Reigns this Friday on SmackDown.
Reigns and Lesnar were supposed to compete against each other at WWE Day 1, but Reigns contracted COVID-19. Lesnar was added to the WWE Championship match and he left with the title after pinning Big E.
Here is the updated lineup for the Royal Rumble:
- Men’s Royal Rumble Match: Johnny Knoxville, Montez Ford, Angelo Dawkins, Rey Mysterio, Dominik Mysterio, Austin Theory
- Edge & Beth Phoenix vs. The Miz & Maryse
- WWE Championship: Brock Lesnar (c) (w/ Paul Heyman) vs. Bobby Lashley
