A new NXT Champion has been crowned.
Headlining the New Year’s Evil edition of NXT 2.0’s weekly program was the NXT Championship match between Tommaso Ciampa and Bron Breakker. After failing to defeat Ciampa at Halloween Havoc, Breakker was successful in his attempt tonight to become NXT Champion as he tapped Ciampa out with the ‘Steiner Recliner’ submission.
Before Breakker accepted the championship from the referee, he glanced over at Ciampa and the now-former NXT Champion nodded his head in approval and Breakker quickly grabbed the title. Breakker is the 19th NXT Champion in history.

This was the second of two title changes on the night. To open the show, Carmelo Hayes and Roderick Strong competed to unify the Cruiserweight and North American Championships.
A recap of New Year’s Evil will be available on the POST Wrestling site via upNXT and their live review is taking place on Twitch.
