New Japan back on AXS TV.

After a brief intermission during night one of Wrestle Kingdom 16, it was revealed that New Japan Pro-Wrestling content is returning to AXS TV on March 3rd at the 10 PM EST slot. NJPW’s programming is going to air after IMPACT Wrestling’s weekly show on AXS.

Classic episodes of NJPW begin airing January 20th. The agreement gives AXS the option to air encore presentations of past NJPW on AXS broadcasts.

Ahead of the new content airing in March, AXS is going to air the six best episodes from NJPW’s run on AXS which lasted from 2015-2019. Wrestle Kingdom 12 will be a part of that classic content.

New Japan Pro-Wrestling President Takami Ohbari had the following to say about the announcement:

Thank you to our international fans for their patience. After two years away, we’re thrilled and grateful to return to U.S. television and evolve a prosperous relationship with a key partner to our North American strategy in AXS TV. We hope fans enjoy being immersed in the action with New Japan each and every Thursday.

Night one of Wrestle Kingdom 16 is currently taking place and a written report of the show will be up on the POST Wrestling site once the show concludes.
