The challenge was issued by Grayson Waller at NXT New Year’s Evil and it was made official. Waller will be going one-on-one with AJ Styles on the 1/11 edition of NXT 2.0.

The 2022 men’s and women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournaments are set to kick off in the coming weeks. The men’s tournament begins January 18th and the women’s tournament begins in February. The Creed Brothers (Julius & Brutus Creed) declared themselves for the Dusty Cup tournament while confronting MSK (Nash Carter & Wes Lee) in the parking lot. In a separate segment, Joe Gacy said that he and Harland will not declare themselves for the Dusty Cup, but they are going to prove why they belong in the tournament.

Raw Tag Team Champion Riddle teamed with MSK at New Year’s Evil to take on Imperium (WALTER, Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel). Riddle hit an RKO on Barthel to secure the win for his team.

A singles match between Santos Escobar and Xyon Quinn is scheduled for 1/11. The winner of the match will earn the managerial and in-ring services of Elektra Lopez.

Andre Chase appeared on the show to salute the ‘Chase University student’ who stopped Harland from beating Chase down last week. Chase was interrupted by Von Wagner, which led to Wagner ambushing Chase and attacking members of the ‘Chase University student section’.

The NXT Women’s Championship remained in Mandy Rose’s possession after she bested both Cora Jade and Raquel Gonzalez in a Triple-Threat. Mandy held Cora down for a pin to secure the win. Prior to the match, Mandy’s entrance included a helicopter ride to the Performance Center.

Adding on to the 1/11 lineup is a ‘Crowbar on a Pole’ match between Pete Dunne and Tony D’Angelo. On the 12/21 NXT 2.0, Dunne and D’Angelo closed the show and after D’Angelo lost, he attacked Dunne and hit him over the hand with a crowbar.
