Roman Reigns has cleared COVID protocols.

The reigning WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is returning to WWE on the January 7th SmackDown in Uncasville, Connecticut. Reigns tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the ‘Day 1’ pay-per-view where was supposed to defend the Universal Title against Brock Lesnar.

With Reigns being unable to compete, Lesnar was added to the WWE Championship Fatal 5-Way involving Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley and now-former champion Big E. Lesnar pinned Big E after hitting him with an F5.

Coming out of Day 1, Bobby Lashley earned a shot at the WWE Title and he and Lesnar are going one-on-one at the Royal Rumble.

As of this writing, the Reigns-Lesnar segment is the only announcement for SmackDown.
