CyberFight President Sanshiro Takagi dives into his hopes for DDT’s expansion.

Sanshiro Takagi, President of CyberFight, talked to Tokyo Sports about his expansion plans for DDT Pro Wrestling. DDT is celebrating its 25th anniversary and this year, Takagi said he wants all of DDT’s attention to be on overseas markets.

This year, DDT will focus all of its attention on overseas markets.

He hopes that the number of overseas subscribers will rise for the ‘WRESTLE UNIVERSE’ streaming service. Percentage-wise, Takagi wants 30 to 50 percent of the subscribers to be from overseas. He plans to grow those numbers by collaborating more with U.S. promotions and companies like AEW.

The reigning KO-D Openweight Champion Konosuke Takeshita became the topic of conversation. Takagi feels that Takeshita can be useful overseas. He had a stint in AEW, but as of the interview, Takagi is only in favor of long-term expeditions for his talents. He also expressed his desire to host an event at Madison Square Garden.

Takagi added that he’s considering requesting that talents take English courses. He believes there’s no point to plan for an overseas expansion if none of the talents are speaking English.
