The reigning GHC Heavyweight Champion Katsuhiko Nakajima missed today’s NOAH event at Korakuen Hall and he’ll be missing the January 30th show in Hamamatsu due to fever symptoms.

Pro Wrestling NOAH issued the following statement:

Notice of Absence of Athletes and Change of Match Card for Jan. 27th (Korakuen) and Jan. 30th (Hamamatsu)

Katsuhiko Nakajima, who [was] scheduled to [wrestle] in Korakuen on January 27th and Hamamatsu on January 30th, will be absent due to fever symptoms. Due to this, some of the [match] cards will be changed.

We apologize for the inconvenience and concern this may cause to fans and other concerned parties, and ask for your understanding and cooperation.

NOAH will make every effort to ensure the safety of the players, staff, and others involved, and to create an environment where visitors can watch the [shows] with greater peace of mind than ever before.

10 talents missed NOAH’s January 16th event due to COVID protocols. This led to the company opting to strip Yoshinari Ogawa and HAYATA of the GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Titles because Ogawa was not able to make his scheduled title defense. New champions were crowned at the ‘Higher Ground’ show.

Nakajima’s next defense of the GHC Heavyweight Title is set for February 23rd when he defends against Kazuyuki Fujita.
