WWE NXT 2.0 notes: Kay Lee Ray vs. Mandy Rose, men’s Dusty Classic, Cora-Raquel

Kay Lee Ray is getting her NXT Women's Title shot, Raquel Gonzalez agrees to team with Cora Jade, men's Dusty Classic

Throughout the February 1st edition of NXT 2.0, Kay Lee Ray had been attempting to get Mandy Rose to agree to an NXT Women’s Championship match. It took for Kay Lee Ray to kidnap Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne along with dumping food onto Rose to get her to agree to a championship match on 2/8.

The finals of the men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will be determined next week. On one side of the bracket, Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson) are scheduled to take on Diamond Mine’s Brutus and Julius Creed. On the opposite side of the bracket, MSK (Nash Carter & Wes Lee) are facing Malik Blade and Edris Enofe. The winners of those respective matches will meet in the Dusty Cup finals at NXT Vengeance Day.

Sarray had her first match on NXT TV since November. She scored a victory in her return. When she’s not wrestling, she reverts back to her outside-of-the-ring persona.

For multiple weeks, Cora Jade had been trying to convince Raquel Gonzalez to team with her in the women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic which begins this month. Gonzalez and Jade went one-on-one on tonight’s NXT 2.0 and after Gonzalez defeated Jade, she agreed to team with her.

Pete Dunne issued a challenge to Tony D’Angelo and wants their next bout to take place inside a Steel Cage. The last time those two talents were in a cage match together was at WarGames.

Scheduled for the 2/8 show on Syfy is a singles match between L.A. Knight and ‘Sanga’, the former ‘Saurav’ who is now Grayson Waller’s bodyguard.

Draco Anthony fell in defeat to Andre Chase in his NXT TV debut. Post-match, Chase called out Von Wagner who ambushed him at New Year’s Evil and took out members of the ‘Chase University student section.’
