An update on Yuya Aoki following his injury on 2/2.

In the semi-main event of Big Japan Pro Wrestling’s show at Korakuen Hall on 2/2, Daisuke Sekimoto defeated Yuya Aoki via count out. Aoki went for a ‘suicide dive’ and was not able to make it back into the ring. The match ended in two minutes and Aoki was stretchered out.

Big Japan provided an update on Aoki’s status and noted that he suffered a fractured left tibia and left fibula. The company does not have a timetable of when he is expected to return. Aoki took to his Twitter page and wrote the following:

My bones are broken, but my heart is not broken! I’ll be back in the ring. I will be back in the ring.

BJPW is in the middle of their ‘Ikkitousen Strong Climb’ tournament, which is a round-robin tourney that showcases the traditional style of wrestling.

The tournament has not been held since 2020 and the winner of that year’s tournament was Daichi Hashimoto.
