Cary Silkin hopes that Tony Khan keeps the Ring of Honor name alive and well.

To kick off the March 2nd episode of AEW Dynamite, Tony Khan made the announcement that he signed a deal to become the new owner of Ring of Honor. Khan acquired ROH’s video library, brand assets and intellectual property with his purchase of the company.

Former Ring of Honor owner Cary Silkin took to social media to wish Khan well after the news broke and he further discussed the purchase during his conversation with Ringsiders Wrestling. Cary said he does not know much about the specifics concerning what Tony plans to do with the Ring of Honor product, but he hopes that it’ll become a part of AEW programming.

So obviously there’s big news with the announcement last night. Tony Khan purchasing Ring of Honor and as we talked off the air, everyone’s gonna think I’m full of sh*t. I hate using these wrestling terms. Oh, that I’m kayfabing, I’m full of sh*t but, I don’t know anything about it yet. Let’s hope that it… you know, this becomes a part of the programming or some additional programming and it keeps the Ring of Honor name alive and well.

Cary added that while the deal is done, there are still moving pieces that have yet to be sorted out. He thinks it’ll be interesting as more information comes to the light.

The only thing I do know is that there’s a lot more moving pieces. I don’t wanna misquote anything. They did the deal but the deal’s not — everything’s not in place yet. So, let’s see what happens. It’ll be an interesting few weeks.

POST Wrestling’s Wai Ting and John Pollock dove into the announcement on the latest Rewind-A-Dynamite podcast. To hear their thoughts about it, head over to this link.
