The PFL has won the Kayla Harrison sweepstakes with the fighter remaining with the promotion.
After testing the waters of free agency and attracting interest from the UFC and Bellator, it was announced on Tuesday that the two-time Olympic gold medalist has re-signed with the PFL.
Harrison, 31 won the gold medal in Judo at the 2012 and 2016 Olympic games along with gold medals at the Pan American games in 2011 and 2015 and a world judo championship in 2010.
Harrison focused on a career in MMA, working out of American Top Team and making her professional debut in June 2018 with the PFL.
Harrison’s manager Donn Davis categorized it as a “historic new contract”.

After nearly four years of competition, Harrison has an undefeated record of 12-0 and won the PFL’s lightweight tournament in 2019 and 2021.
She has fought at 155 pounds with the exception of a November 2020 fight with Invicta FC where she cut down to featherweight and defeated Courtney King by TKO in the second round.
Bellator had made an offer to Harrison with Ariel Helwani reporting last week that the PFL matched the offer.
The next PFL season will begin in April.
