Sporting the mask made it difficult for Yim to breathe.

After Mia Yim wrapped up her time on WWE’s NXT brand, she was moved over to the main roster and debuted as a a member of the now-disbanded group ‘RETRIBUTION’ that consisted of Mustafa Ali, T-BAR, MACE and SLAPJACK (Shane Haste).

Yim wrestled in a total of four matches since being called up to the main roster and her last sanctioned match was in December of 2020 at a ‘Main Event’ taping. During her virtual signing for Highspots Wrestling Network, Yim said it was difficult to breathe in the ‘RECKONING’ mask and she had concerns about a part of the mask that she feels could have stabbed her in the face.

You know what? I know my role and if that’s what they [WWE] wanted me to do, I was gonna do it but…

I got a lot to say [about my time in WWE] but I’m gonna say it on YouTube when I’m ready. But this [RECKONING mask] was not really — it was very difficult to breathe and if this… the biggest concern was like, not that I didn’t like it but if I got kicked in the face and the ends poked out from the back, I could’ve got stabbed in the face. But, you know, they didn’t care about that so…

Mia is scheduled to compete at the Mark Hitchcock Memorial SuperShow on March 31st. Yim and current AEW talent Keith Lee recently got married. Both finished up their runs with WWE in November 2021.
