The first quarter-final match of the New Japan Cup is set.

On Monday’s show at Takamatsu City General Gymnasium, Kazuchika Okada and CIMA advanced to the round of eight in the ongoing tournament.

Okada defeated Taichi in the main event of the show after executing the Rainmaker.

Okada had previously defeated El Desperado and Master Wato while Taichi earned a second-round bye after Hiroyoshi Tenzan was removed from the New Japan Cup.

CIMA beat Hirooki Goto with the Meteora to set up the match with Okada next Sunday.

The winner of Okada vs. CIMA will face the winner of Hiroshi Tanahashi/Tetsuya Naito vs. Jeff Cobb/YOSHI-HASHI.

The third round continues this week with matches on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Tuesday, March 15th in Okayama:
*Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Tetsuya Naito
*Jeff Cobb vs. YOSHI-HASHI

Thursday, March 17th in Shizuoka:
*Will Ospreay vs. SANADA
*Great O-Khan vs. Zack Sabre Jr.

Friday, March 18th at Korakuen Hall:
*EVIL vs. Hiromu Takahashi
*Shingo Takagi vs. Chase Owens
