NJPW announces dates for Best of the Super Juniors tournament

New Japan Pro Wrestling has released the information for this year’s Best of the Super Juniors tournament.

New Japan Pro Wrestling has released the information for this year’s Best of the Super Juniors tournament.

The annual event will begin on Sunday, May 15th, and will take place over the course of thirteen shows with the finals scheduled for Budokan Hall on Friday, June 3rd.

Below are the listed dates and locations:

*Sunday, May 15th at Nagoya Congress Center
*Tuesday, May 17th in Yamagata
*Wednesday, May 18th at Sendai Sun Plaza Hall
*Thursday, May 19th in Aomori at Hachinoche City East Gymnasium
*Saturday, May 21st in Aomori at Maeda Arena Main Arena
*Sunday, May 22nd in Akita
*Tuesday, May 24th at Korakuen Hall
*Wednesday, May 25th at Korakuen Hall
*Thursday, May 26th at Korakuen Hall
*Saturday, May 28th in Chiba
*Sunday, May 29th at Ota Ward General Gymnasium
*Tuesday, May 31st in Toyama
*Friday, June 3rd at Budokan Hall

Participants will be announced at a later date.

Last year’s winner was Hiromu Takahashi, who defeated YOH in the final. It was the third time Takahashi has won the Best of the Super Juniors after previous victories in 2018 & 2020.

The tournament began in 1988 as the Top of the Super Juniors and was renamed to its present branding in 1994.
