Io Shirai & Kay Lee Ray win 2022 women’s Dusty Cup, opts to join NXT Women’s Title bout at Stand & Deliver

Kay Lee Ray & Io Shirai won the 2022 women's Dusty Cup, but they are choosing to add themselves to the Women's Title match at Stand & Deliver

Kay Lee Ray and Io Shirai turns down the Tag Title match.

Headlining tonight’s installment of NXT 2.0 was the finals of the women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament. Io Shirai and Kay Lee Ray met Dakota Kai and Wendy Choo and coming out on the winning end of the match were Kay Lee Ray and Io.

They now join Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez as winners of the women’s version of the tournament. Shirai and Lee Ray were confronted by Toxic Attraction (Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne), but the Dusty Cup winners stated that they want to break Toxic Attraction by taking away Mandy’s title.

Instead of challenging Gigi and Jacy for their tag titles, Io and Kay Lee Ray are opting to add themselves to Cora Jade and Mandy Rose’s singles match at Stand & Deliver.

As of this writing, there are six matches scheduled for Stand & Deliver on 4/2 and here is the updated lineup:

  • NXT North American Championship — Ladder Match: Carmelo Hayes (c) vs. Santos Escobar vs. Solo Sikoa vs. Grayson Waller vs. TBD
  • Tommaso Ciampa vs. Tony D’Angelo
  • NXT Tag Team Championships — Triple-Threat Match: Imperium (Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel) (c) vs. The Creed Brothers (Julius & Brutus Creed) vs. MSK (Nash Carter & Wes Lee)
  • NXT Women’s Championship — Fatal 4 Way: Mandy Rose (c) vs. Cora Jade vs. Io Shirai vs. Kay Lee Ray
  • NXT Championship: Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Bron Breakker
  • L.A. Knight vs. Gunther
