WWE Raw reclaimed the top cable spot on Monday night as the men’s NCAA basketball tournament had the night off.

The March 21st edition of Raw from Chicago averaged 1,769,000 viewers and approximately 657,000 (0.50) in the 18-49 demographic, according to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily.

Overall viewership experienced an increase of four percent while the 18-49 audience grew by six percent. After slipping to second on cable last week due to the NCAA tournament, Raw finished first among cable originals. The only sports programming in the top ten was a women’s NCAA game on ESPN that averaged 1,137,000 viewers and 0.26 in 18-49.

It was Raw’s highest 18-49 audience since February 21st on the Monday following the Elimination Chamber event. Over the past four episodes, Raw is averaging 1,749,000 viewers and 620,000 in 18-49.

The show began with 1,778,000 viewers and 0.49 in the 18-49 demo. It grew to 1,870,000 and 0.53 in the second hour and was the second most-watched hour of Raw over the past four episodes.

The third hour saw the show fall to 1,659,000 and 0.49 in the demo and led to the main event between Seth Rollins and AJ Styles, which occupied the final thirty minutes of the program.

The overall viewership from the first to the third hour was seven percent. The drop was more pronounced from hour two to hour three.

Two of the biggest gains from last week were seen with males 18-49 growing from 0.64 to 0.70 and adults 18-34 from 0.27 to 0.32. The 50+ audience increased this week from 0.85 to 0.88, although dropped nine percent throughout the episode.

In Canada, Raw continued its hot streak with an average of 278,600 viewers and 119,400 in the 25-54 demographic, its highest overall viewership in the country since last August and was up six percent from last week. WWE Raw finished fourth among sports programs for the night behind two NHL games and the Toronto Raptors vs. Chicago Bulls.

Over the past four episodes, Raw has averaged 251,500 viewers in Canada on Sportsnet 360.
