Tully Blanchard comments on his newly-formed ROH group and FTR.

Since splitting away from FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) on AEW programming, Tully Blanchard went on to establish his own group within the Tony Khan-owned Ring of Honor.

The group is called ‘Tully Blanchard Enterprises’ and it consists of Brian Cage, Kaun and Toa Liona. They formally debuted at ROH Supercard of Honor. Blanchard commented on the group while doing a virtual signing for K & S WrestleFest and shared that he’s excited about all three talents.

Well, Brian [Cage] is a tremendous athlete and I hope that it is gonna be successful for both of us but I think the tag team is very promising too; Toa [Liona] and Kaun, and that’s exciting as well. Those guys are — all three, great athletes.

Throughout FTR’s time in AEW, they’ve often been compared to Arn Anderson and Tully. The duo have spoken at length about how much they look up to those two as well.

Tully feels FTR is a lot different than he and Arn style-wise. He thinks FTR is more in line with him and the late Gino Hernandez, who Tully was a multi-time tag champion with in the Southwest Championship Wrestling promotion.

Not to a — they [FTR] were very good for today and they’re very talented guys and it was a thrill to be out there [Tully said when asked if he consistently thought that FTR were similar to himself & Arn Anderson]. The biggest thrill was the night that they won the AEW Tag Team Titles. Had a little flashback and they are — they’re a lot different than what Arn and I were because of the… they’re more like Gino [Hernandez] and I were, because Gino and I were — and the reason that Arn and I were a better tag team than Gino and I was because Arn was 270 and could do 270-things and I was 225 and could do 225-things and Gino and I were both 220. Oh gosh, absolutely [Arn was the power of our team].

This week on AEW Dynamite, Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood are scheduled to go one-on-one in an Owen Hart Foundation Tournament qualifier. To hear POST Wrestling’s thoughts about the upcoming bout, check out the latest Rewind-A-Dynamite episode.
