Hours after headlining New Japan’s Wrestling Dontaku event, Tetsuya Naito has revealed he will be undergoing another procedure on his eye.

According to Tokyo Sports, the 39-year-old performer will be having another operation on his right eye after an initial procedure in 2019 to deal with “superior oblique muscle paralysis” in the eye, according to the report. The issue has led to Naito having a narrow field of vision and presenting difficulty in assessing distance.

Naito required two weeks to recover from the last operation and this follow-up procedure coincides with the Best of the Super Juniors tournament with Naito not scheduled to wrestle on the tour.

New Japan’s next major event after the Best of the Super Juniors is Dominion on Sunday, June 12th in Osaka, Japan.
