NXT Spring Breakin’ notes: Breakker retains, Women’s Breakout tourney, Hartwell/Hudson

Bron Breakker retains over Joe Gacy, Women's Breakout tourney kicking off on 5/10, Hartwell and Hudson run into each other, Cameron Grimes

The main event of NXT Spring Breakin’ saw Bron Breakker successfully defend the NXT Championship against Joe Gacy. Following Breakker’s win, two druids got on the ring apron and stared Breakker down as the show went off the air.

On 5/10, the first NXT Women’s Breakout tournament will begin. Joining the field of talents are Fallon Henley and Tatum Paxley.

There was a segment in the backstage area with Indi Hartwell and Duke Hudson. Both of their on-screen partners in Dexter Lumis and Persia Pirotta were released from WWE last week.

The North American Championship remains in Cameron Grimes’ possession following his win over Solo Sikoa and Carmelo Hayes in a Triple-Threat to open the show.

Scheduled for next week’s NXT 2.0 is Alba Fyre (Kay Lee Ray’s) first in-ring appearance since undergoing her name change. In addition to that, NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne are taking on Wendy Choo and Roxanne Perez in a non-title bout.

MTV’s ‘The Challenge’ star Mark Long was in attendance to support Grayson Waller. Waller went one-on-one with NXT UK’s Nathan Frazer and fell in defeat to Frazer after a distraction from Andre Chase.

Tony D’Angelo and Santos Escobar met and the two parties agreed to make peace. Later on in the show, Legado Del Fantasma (Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, Cruz Del Toro & Elektra Lopez) kidnapped AJ Galante, member of Tony D’Angelo’s ‘family’.

By way of an unwanted assist from Roderick Strong, The Creed Brothers (Julius & Brutus Creed) picked up a win over The Viking Raiders (Ivar & Erik). The Creeds were not pleased with Strong’s interference.
