An interim AEW World Champion is going to be determined.
The newly crowned AEW World Champion CM Punk appeared on the June 3rd episode of Rampage and broke the news that he suffered an injury and must undergo surgery.
Punk will be out for the foreseeable future so AEW is going to crown an interim World Champion. The new champion will be crowned at ‘Forbidden Door’ on June 26th. There will be a Battle Royal on the June 8th episode of Dynamite and the winner of that match will face Jon Moxley in the main event. At Forbidden Door, the winner of that 6/8 main event is going to compete for the interim title.

Below is the updated (June 3rd) rankings for the men’s singles division. On June 1st, Moxley was listed as number four in the rankings and Wardlow led the remaining names.
