New match added to Dominion with ‘Forbidden Door’ stakes attached to it.
As a result of AEW World Champion CM Punk having to undergo surgery, an interim champion is going to be crowned. On the AEW side of the coin, there will be a Battle Royal to kick off next week’s Dynamite with the winner advancing to the main event of the show to take on Jon Moxley. The winner of that bout will secure themselves a spot in the interim AEW World Title match at Forbidden Door.
AEW put out a press release which noted that a New Japan Pro-Wrestling talent will be competing for the interim AEW World Title as well. At Dominion on June 12th, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Hirooki Goto are scheduled to go one-on-one and the winner is heading to Forbidden Door to compete for the belt.
Once CM Punk is cleared to compete, he’ll meet the interim champion in a unification match.
