NXT 2.0 has viewership bump following In Your House, #22 on cable

NXT 2.0 saw a bump in viewership following its In Your House event while going against the NHL playoffs on Tuesday night.

The June 7th edition of the show averaged 657,000 viewers and approximately 183,000 (0.14) in the 18-49 demographic, according to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily.

The show finished #22 among cable originals, which was topped by the New York Rangers vs. Tampa Bay Lightning game that averaged 2,341,000 viewers and 0.68 in 18-49 on ESPN airing against NXT 2.0.

NXT grew its overall audience by 23 percent with 18-49 up by 17 percent with a significant jump of 33 percent in adults 18-34.

In the 18-49, females grew from 46,000 to 72,000 this week, according to Brandon Thurston’s breakdown of the demos.

There was also a sizable increase of 23 percent among adults 50+, which contributed to the overall audience growth from last week, which was among the lowest in the history of NXT on the USA Network.

It was NXT’s highest overall audience since May 3rd and the 18-49 audience equaled the amount on May 17th. Prior to that show, you would have to go back to March 29th for a higher audience in the key demo.

Following Saturday’s In Your House special on Peacock & WWE Network, NXT 2.0 featured the finals of the Breakout Tournament with Roxanne Perez defeating Tiffany Stratton, the return of Apollo Crews to the NXT brand, and teaming with Solo Sikoa against Carmelo Hayes & Grayson Waller in the main event.

In Canada, NXT averaged approximately 42,000 viewers and 20,000 in the 25-54 demographic on Sportsnet 360. The show didn’t finish among the top ten sports programs, which was led by the NHL playoffs and included the Toronto Blue Jays vs. Kansas City Royals.
