Moxley versus Tanahashi taking place at Forbidden Door.
As a result of CM Punk having to undergo surgery, an interim AEW World Champion is going to be crowned and the participants in that interim title match are Jon Moxley and Hiroshi Tanahashi.
Tanahashi advanced to the AEW World Title match by defeating Hirooki Goto at NJPW Dominion. Moxley secured his spot in the bout when he bested Kyle O’Reilly on the June 8th AEW Dynamite.
