New Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions.

The main event of today’s New Japan Road show saw Master Wato and Ryusuke Taguchi defending the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Titles against United Empire’s TJP and Francesco Akira.

It was United Empire coming out on top as Akira submitted Wato to secure the victory and the championships for himself and TJP. This title win is both TJP and Akira’s first in New Japan.

Wato and Taguchi had been reigning as champions since February of this year. With Akira and TJP having the Junior belts, United Empire is now in possession of the IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Championship (Will Ospreay) along with the IWGP Tag Team Championships (Jeff Cobb & Great-O-Khan).
