Brody King vs. Darby Allin

Sting escorted Darby Allin out for his entrance. Right away Brody King catches Darby on a tope suicida attempt and drives him against the barricade and ring post, but Darby fights back. Back inside, Brody takes control with a big chop and a couple sentons. Darby tries a cross body off the top rope, but Brody blocks him down then ragdolls him to the outside by his shorts. Brody continues tossing Darby all over the outside and stays in control as they go to picture-in-picture (which included a Shark Week commercial with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson).

When we come back, Darby drags Brody to the floor by his boots and hits him with a cannonball. Darby hits a Coffin Splash inside, but Brody catches his second attempt and places Darby on the top rope and chops away at him. Darby dodges a running cannonball from Brody and hits the Code Red for a two count but stays on Brody with a double arm submission and then into a rear naked choke hold but Brody cannonballs his way out. Darby exposes the turnbuckle and drives Brody into it, but Brody quickly catches Darby in a rear naked choke hold and drops him to the outside. Darby beats the count at nine but Brody hits him with the Gonzo Bomb right away and gets the pin.

Winner: Brody King by pinfall at 12:35

Brody puts Darby in the choke hold again, as Sting comes to the ring to help. Brody and Sting start brawling, but as Sting tries the Scorpion Death Drop the lights go out. When they come back on, Sting and Malakai Black are face to face. Brody starts choking out Sting as Malakai spits mist in Sting’s face. Miro’s music plays as he makes his way to the ring with a pair of shades on that looks like it is covering up a patched eye. Miro stops short from coming in and just stares down Malakai and Brody.

Sleeping with the Sharks

Tony Schiavone is backstage with Cole Karter (the former Troy ‘Two Dimes’ Donovan’ from NXT 2.0) but before Karter can say anything, Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs interrupt him and said they heard he was sleeping with the fishes now he’s sleeping with the sharks, but Karter says he will be taking the FTW Championship from Starks tonight.

Best Friends (Trent Beretta & Chuck Taylor) vs. Wheeler Yuta & Jon Moxley

Orange Cassidy and William Regal both join commentary for this match, but obviously, Regal does most of the talking. Trent Beretta and Jon Moxley start the match, where Moxley starts working on the arm but Chuck Taylor and Wheeler Yuta tag in quickly. Taylor and Yuta go into a forearm exchange, before Taylor hits a backdrop suplex. Yuta gets knocked to the outside, where Taylor starts tossing him all around the barricade. Moxley comes in for the save and throws a chair in his direction as they go to picture-in-picture.

When we come back, Yuta takes down Taylor as we see Daniel Garcia is backstage watching on ahead of his Pure Championship match against Yuta on Saturday at ROH Death Before Dishonor. Moxley comes in and starts landing elbows on Beretta. When Taylor tries to stop him, he gets tossed onto the outside and on top of the timekeeper’s table. Inside, Moxley hits a cutter on Beretta and starts stomping him out before tagging in Yuta. Taylor breaks up Moxley and Beretta and hits an Awful Waffle to Moxley using the top rope as an assistant. They double team Yuta with a pair of piledrivers but Beretta only gets a two count on Yuta. Yuta comes back with a release German Suplex to Beretta, but Beretta comes back with Crunchy, Moxley comes in and hits a knee as all four men are now laid out. Moxley puts Beretta in a figure four on the outside as Taylor stays on the attack on Yuta, but Yuta reverses an Awful Attempt and puts on the Seatbelt for the pin on Taylor as Cassidy angrily leaves the commentary saying ‘Chuck taught him that pin’

Winners: Wheeler Yuta & Jon Moxley by pinfall at 11:54

We see a promo for Jonathan Gresham vs. Claudio Castagnoli’s ROH World Championship match as ‘Chompie’ the Shark Week mascot starts dancing around the commentary table.

Celebrate in Our Glory

Tony Schiavone is in the ring and introduces the new AEW World Tag Team Champions, Swerve in Our Glory, as Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland make their way to the ring as there’s a table with a cake and champagne for them outside. Swerve promotes rapper Kevin Gates who is sitting ringside. Keith Lee gives a toast to this championship reign and says may it be limitless, but before they can further celebrate they get interrupted by Tony Nese and Mark Sterling. Sterling says the petition is almost complete to get rid of Swerve and says he will get Kevin Gates to sign it, but Gates says no. Sterling calls Gates untrustworthy and says his music sucks, but threatens to sue Gates when he gets in Sterling’s face. Nese gets in the way, but Gates punches him down. Swerve tosses the cake into Sterling’s face to end this segment but not before we see Westside Gunn ringside, who I’m sure would have appreciated being in Gates spot a lot more for this.

Butch

Tony Schiavone is backstage with The Butcher, The Blade, John Silver & Alex Reynolds. Silver says his favorite wrestler is The Butcher and gives them both shirts that say ‘Butch’, but Butcher & Blade beat them down. Adam Page comes out with a chair to save them.

Christian Cage & Luchasaurus vs. Varsity Blonds (Brian Pillman Jr. & Griff Garrison)

Christian Cage and Brian Pillman Jr. start the match, but Christian tags out to Luchasaurus right away and head butts Pillman right down. Griff Garrison tags in and they try to double team Luchasaurus, but he clotheslines them both down. Luchasaurus follows with chokeslams on both of them, before tagging in Christian who comes in and covers Pillman for the quick win.

Winners: Christian Cage & Luchasaurus by pinfall at 2:03

Welcome to the Jungle

After the match, Luchasaurus puts Christian on his shoulders Jurassic Express style, but we hear Jungle Boy’s music as he makes his way down to the ring slowly with a steel chair in his hand. Luchasaurus gets in his way, but moves aside and stands side to side with Jungle Boy. Jungle Boy charges into the ring, but Christian runs in the stands as Jungle Boy chases after him.

Rap Battle Challenge

Lexy Nair is backstage with the Gunn Club where Austin Gunn says he wants to challenge Max Caster to a rap battle this Friday on Rampage before he starts rhyming a bit.

FTW Championship: Ricky Starks (c) (w/ Powerhouse Hobbs) vs. Cole Karter

Jim Ross joins commentary for the second hour and starts talking to Taz about the lineage of the FTW Championship with just four people having held that title (Taz, Sabu, Brian Cage and now, Starks). Starks stays in control, but Karter comes back with a drop kick and a diving crossbody, before knocking Starks to the outside with a clothesline as we go to picture-in-picture.

When we come back, Karter is in control and hits an elbow strike for a two count. Karter hits a cutter, heads to the top rope but misses a 450 splash. Starks comes back and hits a spear for the pin.

Winner: Ricky Starks by pinfall at 6:10, to retain

Open Challengehausen

Starks grabs the mic and says he’s got more in the tank and he’s feeling this is the right time to keep it going, as he tells the guy in the Wu-Tang shirt to bring out the next person as Danhausen makes his way out. Danhausen says he heard Starks open challenge so he would like to accept it right now. Starks says he didn’t mean ‘right now’ so he says next week on Dynamite, as the crowd boos, but Starks says they can still watch it from home and makes the match official.

Crush Some Baddies

Tony Schiavone is backstage with Kris Statlander, Athena and Willow Nightingale and talks about Leila Grey not being there tonight so therefore, Statlander has to sit this one out as it’s now a tag team match. They start talking about going after titles before saying it’s time to crush some baddies.

Fight Like An 8-Year Old

Tony Schiavone is in the ring and introduces FTR and starts talking about their 2 out of 3 falls match with The Briscoes this Saturday at ROH Death Before Dishonor. Cash Wheeler says he can never get used to this kind of reaction as the crowd cheers FTR on. Wheeler says that 2022 has been a pretty ‘decent’ year for them and brings up the first match against The Briscoes, as no match was bigger until this Saturday. Wheeler says he respects The Briscoes but they aren’t going to take any of those titles from them and they will have to take them from their cold, dead hands. Dax Harwood starts telling a story about a young 5 year old girl having a hole in her heart and she was told if she works hard her hole would close, and she fought her ass off and it did, before revealing it is his daughter that he’s talking about. Harwood ends it by saying this Saturday he will fight like a 8 year old girl and kick The Briscoes asses.

Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt and Satnam Singh are backstage with Lexy Nair where Lethal says he would beat Samoa Joe today if he could but Joe doesn’t show up to work. Christopher Daniels stops them and says if Lethal is so anxious to get in the ring, he’ll be there on Friday for Rampage waiting for Lethal.

Jade Cargill & Kiera Hogan (w/ Stokely Hathaway & Jermaine Dupri) vs. Athena & Willow Nightingale

Stokely Hathaway gets on the mic and says that Kris Statlander is banned from ringside tonight, since Leila Grey isn’t there as rap artist & producer Jermaine Dupri is randomly out with them. Jade Cargill and Athena start the match, but Jade quickly tags out to Kiera Hogan. Athena and Willow start the first couple minutes in control as Willow hits a cannonball to Jade & Kiera on the outside, before Athena dives on them and they go to picture-in-picture.

When we come back, Jade and Athena go face to face into a forearm exchange, before Jade kicks her down. Athena stops her with a boot and tries a diving crossbody, but Jade catches her and hits a fall away slam. Athena comes back and hits double knees to Jade before going to the outside and pushes Stokely down. Jade drives Athena back first into the steel steps, tags in but Willow rolls her up for a two count. Jade comes back with a slam for a two count, before hitting Jaded for the pin and the win.

Winners: Jade Cargill & Kiera Hogan by pinfall at 8:25

Daniel Garcia, Matt Menard, Angelo Parker & Jake Hager of the Jericho Appreciation Society come out and enter the shark cage that will be held above the ring, Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti are nowhere to be seen. Ruby Soho is sitting ringside and is controlling the lift of the cage. Chris Jericho comes out in his full Pain Maker gimmick, Eddie Kingston runs to the ring and takes Justin Roberts’ barbed wire covered mic and starts attacking Jericho in it and says ‘You’re going to bleed, Shark Week!’, as Jericho is already bleeding from the head. They start fighting outside where Jericho grabs the bell that’s also covered in wire and hits Kingston with it. They head back inside where Kingston tosses Jericho into the wire covered ropes as the J.A.S. is screaming down. Kingston starts using the tables and chairs, but Jericho comes back with a hurricanrana off the top rope to Kingston on top of the barbed wire table as they go to picture-in-picture.

When we come back, Kingston is in control as they are both now bleeding. They fight on the apron where Kingston suplexes Jericho onto a barbed wire table. Tay Conti runs down ringside and starts attacking Ruby Soho. Anna Jay runs out and saves Soho from Conti, before she attacks Soho herself. Jay and Tay embrace as Jay lets the J.A.S. cage down and Tay tries to use the key to open the door. Tay has trouble opening the door, so they just slip out of the cage and start attacking Kingston. Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, Ortiz and Claudio Castagnoli run out and save Kingston. Kingston hits an exploder suplex to Jericho onto a table but Jericho kicks out. Kingston tries to hit Jericho with a chair, but Jericho stops him with the Code Breaker, but Kingston kicks out of that. Jericho keeps attacking Kingston with the barbed wire chair and tries a Lion Sault but Kingston tosses the chair off and hits the Uraken for the pin, which Jericho kicks out at one. Kingston goes and grabs barbed wire and starts choking Jericho with it into the Stretch Plum. Sammy Guevara runs in and breaks it up hitting Kingston with a superkick. Sammy tosses Kingston into Jericho who hits the Judas Effect with his arm wrapped in barbed wire and gets the pin for the win.

Winner: Chris Jericho by pinfall at 13:12

Sammy and Jericho try to attack Kingston after, but he stops them and tosses Jericho in the spider web of barbed wire outside.
