New Japan Pro Wrestling and Stardom will be creating an IWGP women’s championship to be introduced later this year.

Stardom made the announcement of the creation of the IWGP women’s championship with the first holder of the title to be crowned on the NJPW x Stardom event on November 20th at the Ariake Arena.

The belt is going to be reserved for New Japan events but they stated it could be defended on major Stardom cards as well.

The championship will not replace the World of Stardom or Wonder of Stardom championships.

Stardom will kick off its annual 5-Star Grand Prix this weekend with two pay-per-view cards from Ota Ward City Gymnasium featuring matches in the Red and Blue blocks. New Japan’s G1 Climax tournament resumes Saturday & Sunday with cards at Dolphin’s Arena in Nagoya.
