Conor McGregor is set to make his feature film debut after being cast in the remake of Road House alongside Jake Gyllenhaal.
Deadline broke the news that McGregor will join the cast for the remake of the ‘80s action film alongside Gyllenhaal, Billy Magnussen, Daniela Melchior, Gbemisola Ikumelo, & Lukas Gage among others.
The film is being produced and distributed by Amazon Prime Video with Doug Liman serving as its director.
The 1989 version of the film starred Patrick Swayze and included a role played by professional wrestler Terry Funk as Morgan.
The concept of the remake sees Gyllenhaal’s character playing a former UFC fighter, who becomes a bouncer at a roadhouse in the Florida Keys.
Deadline added that McGregor will not be playing himself in the movie and will begin production in the Dominican Republic later this month.
McGregor’s spokesperson Karen Kessler issued a statement to reporter Ariel Helwani to confirm the news:
Conor McGregor will make his motion picture acting debut along Jake Gyllenhaal in the 80’s classic “Road House” remake, it was announced today. Filming starts within the month. He will have a leading role.

McGregor last fought in July 2021 when he suffered a fractured leg during his third fight with Dustin Poirier and the fight was stopped after the first round.
