KAORU formally retires from in-ring competition, Meiko Satomura pens article about KAORU

30-year veteran KAORU retired from in-ring competition and current NXT UK Women's Champion Meiko Satomura wrote about KAORU's career

She had her final match on August 8th.

On August 8th, Korakuen Hall hosted the final match of 36-year veteran KAORU. She was originally scheduled to have her retirement match in 2021, but suffered an injury to her right knee and ankle before the bout. She was on the losing end of an eight-woman tag that saw herself, Chikayo Nagashima, Megumi Yabushita and DASH Chisako take on Takumi Iroha, Tomoko Watanabe, Mio Momono and Leo Isaka.

KAORU made her in-ring debut in 1986 as a part of All Japan Women’s Pro-Wrestling. She wrestled for WCW, CMLL and Sendai Girls’.

On the Sendai Girls’ website, NXT UK Women’s Champion Meiko Satomura wrote about KAORU’s retirement and their relationship which dates back to when Meiko was 15-years-old.

KAORU has won a multitude of titles throughout her career ranging from wins in Sendai Girls’, All Japan Women’s Pro and World Woman Pro-Wrestling Diana.
