Tonight’s episode of NXT 2.0 was the go-home show for the Heatwave special on USA Network next week. Multiple additions were made to the card including Santos Escobar versus Tony D’Angelo in a Street Fight. If D’Angelo wins, Santos must leave NXT 2.0, but if Santos wins, Legado Del Fantasma (Escobar, Cruz Del Toro, Joaquin Wilde & Elektra Lopez) is free from the D’Angelo Family.

It is official that at Heatwave, Carmelo Hayes will be defending his North American Championship against Giovanni Vinci.

The 8/16 Heatwave program will also see former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez clash in a singles match.

Coming off his win over Von Wagner in a Falls Count Anywhere bout, Solo Sikoa was informed by a doctor that he has a sprained PCL and will be out 4-6 weeks.

An alliance between Lash Legend and Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) was formed. Legend stood in unison with the duo after she ambushed Fallon Henley, who was ringside with NXT UK Tag Team Champions Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen.

Zoey Stark and Nikkita Lyons are teaming up in the WWE Women’s Tag Team Title tournament. WWE aired a backstage interview with Lyons and Stark promoting their appearance in the tourney.

In the main event of the 8/9 NXT 2.0, Stark picked up a win over Cora Jade as she heads to Heatwave to challenge Mandy Rose for the NXT Women’s Championship.

There was a British Rounds match on tonight’s program that saw Wes Lee beat Trick Williams 2-1.

Apollo Crews went one-on-one with Roderick Strong and got the win over the Diamond Mine leader.
