Today’s update will be the final contest update until after the G1 has concluded. The final results and winners of the contest will be revealed after the conclusion of the G1 Finals on August 18th (first on the post-show podcast and then posted here). A sincere thank you to everyone who submitted picks and followed along.
Going into the last day of block matches on Tuesday, we have a singular person in Steve s leading the overall contest at 53 points. As great as an accomplishment as that is, it is a one-point lead which is very tenuous given that there are 8 matches on Tuesday’s card. Depending on how people picked, we could see some dramatic swings after Tuesday’s results.
Jordan Goodman didn’t have a great day only predicting one match correctly but still has a four-point lead in the E-Block which, while not impossible, will be tough to overcome.

BLOCK SCENARIOS
In A Block, it is down to Archer vs. Okada on Tuesday. While Jonah has six points and could score 8, he has lost to Archer. If Archer beats Okada then Archer, Okada, and Jonah would all have 8 points with Archer holding tie-breakers over both Okada and Jonah. If Okada wins or draws vs. Archer he will win outright with at least 9 points.
In B Block, it comes down to Jay White vs. Tama Tonga. If White wins or draws he will have at least 11 points and win outright. If Tonga wins, both White and Tonga finish with 10 points and Tonga will have the tie-breaker vs. White.
In C Block there are several scenarios. If Zack Sabre Jr. wins or draws vs. Naito he will win the block outright with at least 9 points. If Naito wins he and Zack will both finish with 8 but Naito will beat Zack on tie-breakers. Naito winning the block also requires Goto to lose or draw vs. Evil to finish with 7 points or less. Goto winning and Zack losing would create a three-way tie at 8 points wherein Zack has the tie-breaker vs. Goto, Goto has the tie-breaker vs. Naito, and Naito has the tie-breaker vs. Zack.
In D Block, “Operation Chaos” reigns supreme and there are too many scenarios to detail here.
