Champions meet at the conclusion of Heatwave.
In the main event of NXT Heatwave, Bron Breakker defeated JD McDonagh to retain the NXT Championship. This was Breakker’s seventh title defense in this second reign as champion.
Post-match, Tyler Bate appeared with the NXT UK Championship. There is an ongoing tournament airing on NXT UK to crown a new champion but that tournament has not ended. Trent Seven and Oliver Carter were the latest to advance. Bate ultimately won the tournament at the tapings but that did not air yet.
Breakker and Bate stood face-to-face with their respective titles held above their heads. Vic Joseph said on commentary that worlds are colliding.
