McIntyre discusses Kross’ return.

Two-time NXT Champion Karrion Kross returned to WWE along with Scarlett Bordeaux on the August 5th episode of SmackDown. He ambushed Drew McIntyre and then he and Scarlett signaled to Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns that he has his sights set on him.

Kross was released from WWE in November 2021 after being moved to the main roster that summer. McIntyre commented on Kross’ return when asked about it by Chris Van Vliet. He said he was surprised to see Karrion back and did not know until the very last second.

He spoke highly of Kross, stating that he’s worked hard for an opportunity and deserves it, but it’s not going to come at his own expense.

Was very surprised to see him [Karrion Kross]. I didn’t know until the very last second that for, you know, we could say a little bit more here than we say in general but let’s just say he’s somebody who’s worked hard for an opportunity, deserves that opportunity and he’s getting the biggest opportunity of his career. Unfortunately for him, it’s not gonna come at Drew McIntyre’s expense [McIntyre laughed].

McIntyre was present on the 8/15 Raw. He had a promo segment with Kevin Owens that led to a singles match between them. The match resulted in a disqualification due to The Usos’ involvement.
