Jay White will make his next defense of the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship in October.

NJPW announced the top two matches for ‘Declaration of Power’ on Monday, October 10th from Sumo Hall.

The name of the event takes the place of the usual ‘King of Pro Wrestling’ title for the big Sumo Hall show that month. New Japan is celebrating its 50th anniversary and incorporating names of tours from its inaugural year of operations.

In the main event, Jay White defends the IWGP World Heavyweight title against Tama Tonga in a rematch from the G1 Climax where Tonga handed White his only loss of the tournament. Tonga’s win over White led to Tonga winning the B Block and facing eventual tournament winner Kazuchika Okada in the semi-finals.

The October card will feature another G1 rematch as Okada faces JONAH, who was the only blemish on Okada’s record in this year’s tournament.

The rest of the October 10th card will be released at a later date.
