Design revealed for the new belt.
The IWGP Women’s Championship was formally introduced by New Japan Pro-Wrestling and STARDOM. The design of the belt was revealed via an exclusive from Tokyo Sports.
A tournament is going to take place to crown the first-ever holder of the belt. That tournament begins on day two of NJPW Royal Quest II. The first champion will be crowned at NJPW x STARDOM ‘Historic X-Over’ on November 20th.
In addition to those announcements, it is official that the championship will be defended at Wrestle Kingdom 17 in January.
The collaboration between STARDOM and NJPW is also going to be on display when STARDOM is represented at NJPW’s ‘Rumble on 44th Street’ event in New York City.
