Ricochet vs. Carmelo Hayes, Tag Team Title unification match set for WWE Worlds Collide

Two championship matches added to the WWE Worlds Collide card to cap off the 8/30 NXT 2.0

Two more title matches made official for Worlds Collide.

As the WWE Worlds Collide match card was taking shape, NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes questioned how he could not be on the card. In the final segment of the 8/30 NXT 2.0, Hayes stated that he was going to take control of the situation and choose not to defend his belt at the September 4th event.

Making his return to NXT to confront Carmelo was former North American Champion Ricochet. The two will go one-on-one for the title at Worlds Collide.

In addition to that bout, the NXT and NXT UK Tag Team Titles are going to be unified. There was a six-person tag on tonight’s program that saw Lash Legend and Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) get the win over Fallon Henley and NXT UK Tag Team Champions Brooks Jensen and Josh Briggs.

Later in the show, Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) defeated Diamond Mine (Damon Kemp, Julius & Brutus Creed). Diamond Mine lost the match following Roderick Strong distracting Kemp. This ended up turning into a brawl between Diamond Mine, Gallus, Jensen and Briggs and Pretty Deadly. At Worlds Collide, those four teams will be competing to become Undisputed NXT Tag Team Champions.

As of this writing, the match card for Worlds Collide on 9/4 is listed as followed:

  • Championship Unification Match: Bron Breakker (NXT Champion) vs. Tyler Bate (NXT UK Champion)
  • Triple-Threat Championship Unification Match: Mandy Rose (NXT Champion) vs. Meiko Satomura (NXT UK Women’s Champion) vs. Blair Davenport
  • NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships: Kayden Carter & Katana Chance (c) vs. Doudrop & Nikki A.S.H.
  • Fatal 4-Way Tag Team Championship Unification Match: The Creed Brothers (Julius & Brutus Creed) (NXT Tag Team Champions) vs. Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen (NXT UK Tag Team Champions) vs. Gallus (Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) vs. Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson)
  • NXT North American Championship: Carmelo Hayes (c) (w/ Trick Williams) vs. Ricochet
