Joe Doering segment, Kenny King's title win gets overturned, Aussie Open arrive in IMPACT, Yuya Uemura coming soon, Mickie James' announcement

At the IMPACT Wrestling tapings in Dallas, Texas, Joe Doering informed the company that his brain cancer returned. Doering is scheduled to undergo surgery in the coming weeks. In a segment with Eric Young and Deaner, it was stated by Young that Doering has a his own path that he’s going to be walking. After Doering stepped out of frame, Young told Deaner that he can either join him on his path or take his own route.

It was promoted that Mickie James had an announcement to make. She appeared in front of the crowd and stated that she is looking to earn her way back to the Knockouts World Championship. Along that journey, if Mickie is to lose, she’s stepping away for good.

There was an X Division Championship match between Kenny King and the champion ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey. With an assist from Maria Kanellis-Bennett, King defeated Bailey to become champion. The match ruling was overturned when the first official for the match, who was knocked out of the ring, saw Kanellis-Bennett help King and then instructed the second official to restart the bout. Mike Bailey went on to retain.

Next up for Bailey is Mascara Dorada, who defeated Alex Zayne in singles competition to earn a shot at the X Division Title.

New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Yuya Uemura is coming to IMPACT.

The inaugural NJPW STRONG Tag Team Champions Aussie Open (Mark Davis & Kyle Fletcher) arrived to IMPACT. They are taking on Chris Bey and Ace Austin on 9/8. In addition to that match, Eddie Edwards versus Heath along with Taya Valkyrie versus Chelsea Green is scheduled for next week.
